Trupti Desai should respect law, says G Sudhakaran
The government will not allow anybody to create a law and order problem, he added.
Kochi: Activist Trupti Desai should restrain herself in the subject of entry to Sabarimala Temple as the matter is now under the consideration of the Supreme Court, public works minister G. Sudhakaran told reporters on Saturday. The state government has endorsed the call for allowing entry of women to the hill shrine without any age bar, he pointed out. “The matter is now before the Supreme Court. Let the court take a decision on it”, he said.
Ms. Desai should respect the existing legal system, he said, referring her decision to enter the temple in January. The government will not allow anybody to create a law and order problem, he added. Ms. Desai has threatened to march to the temple with 100 supporters next month, defying the age old tradition of the temple barring women, who has not reached age of menopause, from entering the temple.
