1,681 villages in AP have broadband connectivity

Nellore: BharatNet project is implemented in a phased manner to provide broadband connectivity to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) in the country, including Andhra Pradesh.

In Andhra Pradesh, a total of 1,692 GPs were taken up for implementation under Phase-I through Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd. Among them,1,681 GPs have been made Service Ready, as of November 1, 2021.

Union MoS for communications Devusingh Chauhan disclosed this while replying to a question of Nellore MP Adala Prabhakar Reddy in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

He said the Phase-II in AP is implemented in a state-led model through the state government under which 27 GPs have been made Service Ready out of 11,719 planned GPs.
