HYDERABAD: Telangana employees associations raised reservations over the allotment of state-level employees to new districts and zones as per the new zonal system that came into force in July, 2021.

The associations pointed out that the recent guidelines issued by the state government for allotment of state-level employees to new districts and zones lacked clarity leading to confusion among employees. They requested the government to adopt 1975 Presidential Order in the case of existing state-level employees and continue the old zonal system which was based on old 10 districts and two zones. They urged the government to implement new zonal system only for the newly appointed employees and allocate them to new districts and zones based on their nativity and seniority.

After the formation of Telangana state in 2014, the TRS government has increased districts to 33 and created seven zones and two multi zones for government recruitments and to ensure 95 per cent reservations for locals in districts, zones and multi-zones.

Telangana Udyogula Sangham honarary chairman A.Padma Chary said they have submitted a representation to the government in this regard. "The government should first select one district as a nodal district and first allocated district-level employees to new districts based on their nativity and seniority. If more options are received from employees seeking posting in any district based on their nativity over and above the sanctioned posts, the government should create supernumerary posts and accommodate them," he said.

He urged the government to set up a help desk to clear the doubts of employees during their allotment to new districts and zones.
