Kurnool: The Parents Association of Andhra Pradesh, in light of recent ragging events in higher education institutions, has demanded for an in-depth probe into the incidents at Siddhartha Medical College. The Association also has urged the government to establish a special task force to avert such incidents in the future.

The association highlighted that students who achieve good ranks in the NEET examination are granted seats in medical colleges according to their scores. However, it has been observed that students from northern states who have joined the college are facing ragging by senior students in the hostel. Further, the association president S. Narahari said that there are reports of seniors assigning their academic work to juniors as part of the ragging.
