Kakinada: Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday said the union government is bringing in reforms, which will make India a strong economic force by 2047.

Speaking as chief guest at the Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme organised at the Dosakayalapalli village in Rajanagaram mandal of East Godavari district on Sunday, Scindia said under the Drone Akka scheme, 1,700 women are being trained in flying drones that would sow seeds and spray fertilisers in agriculture fields.

The union minister said centre will give a subsidy of 80 per cent for acquiring drones and Drone Akkas will have to pay only 20 per cent of the amount. He maintained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen on empowering women of the country and women, in turn, should recognise his services and support him.

Scindia pointed out that 9.50 crore women in India have got gas connections free of cost under the PM UJWAL scheme. Further, the union government is laying drinking water pipes and fixing a water tap at every house under the Jal Jeevan Mission. 37 crore people have been issued Ayushman health cards, with five lakh health cards distributed on Sunday itself. ₹1,000 each has been credited into the accounts of 11 crore farmers under the Kisan Samman scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, BJP state president D. Purandeswari said Narendra Modi is serving the country like a servant. The Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is part of the PM’s efforts to ensure that the centre’s schemes reach all the poor and eligible beneficiaries.

Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja Indravandit, BJP national executive member Somu Veerraju and East Godavari district collector K. Madhavi Latha were among those present.
