Kaleshwaram project: Incriminating material seized from irrigation offices

Vigilance officials complete searches in Karimnagar and Warangal districts

Karimnagar: Officials from vigilance and enforcement departments completed searches in the offices of the irrigation department in the erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts on Thursday and seized important documents pertaining to Kaleshwaram project.

In Karimnagar, the searches were conducted for two days at the irrigation office near LMD Colony in Thimmapur mandal, under the supervision of Vigilance SP Venkatramana Reddy and DSP Srinivas Rao. They seized important documents, files and hard disks pertaining to the Kaleshwaram project.

In the erstwhile Warangal, the searches were conducted for three days at the irrigation divisional office in Mahadevpur mandal under the supervision of the SP Ramesh Chary of the vigilance and enforcement department.

They seized documents, records, files and hard disks pertaining to Medigadda and Annaram barrage and Kannepalli Laxmi pump house.

Ramesh Chary said that the seized materials have been shifted to the main office in Hyderabad. It is learnt that vigilance department officials were angry with irrigation officials for not producing key files and documents regarding the barrages constructed under the Kaleshwaram project.
