Reserve Police to Get Arms Training
Arms training to be must for reserve cops
HYDERABAD: Nagarkurnool superintendent of police Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath has initiated a regular weapon practice programme at the Jadcherla firing range for Armed Reserve personnel who are responsible for the security of MPs, ministers and MLAs.
"When the forces engage in regular weapon practice, they become adept and gain proper knowledge of weapon usage. This routine training gives them confidence and prepares them for emergencies,” Raghunath said.
Officials outlined that the training imparts awareness of advanced technology in changing times. As part of the initiative, the district SP, additional district SPs, DSPs, and other personnel conduct firing practice.
The academy in the city features two firing ranges for officer trainees, catering to both short-range and long-range weapons. In the districts, officers have initiated short-range weapon practice to enhance their knowledge of weapon usage.
