Kerala: Victim of moral policing fears for her life
The girl along with her father gave statements to the police based on which an FIR was filed.
Kollam: The moral goons who assaulted a couple on the Azheekkal beach here on Valentine’s Day are in no mood to leave the girl alone even after her companion committted suicide two weeks later unable to bear the mental trauma. The girl, hailing from Sooranadu, filed a petition with the Sooranadu police on Friday saying that the accused wanted to kill her. The girl along with her father gave statements to the police based on which an FIR was filed.
Her father had overheard unidentified persons at Oachira bus stand telling each other that the girl should also be 'finished off' to end the case charged against them. The case was transferred to Oachira police. The police had arrested Dhanesh, 30, of Manaloorthara, Kayamkulam, Subhash, 33, and Aneesh, both of Puthumannel, Azheekkal, in connection with the incident. The attackers had spread the visuals of the couple, who were working in a private firm in Karunagappally, on the social media. The girl's friend Aneesh, 27, of Pallath veedu, Karara, Attappadi, committed suicide in his house in Palakkad.
