Vijayawada: The AP High Court has imposed two weeks’ jail term and a fine of Rs 25,000 on APIIC managing director Pravin Kumar in a contempt of court case. It, however, deferred implementation of the order to four weeks.

The order was issued on Monday. The case originated when Kumar was serving as Collector in Visakhapatnam. He allegedly stopped registration of seven acres of land in Kapuluppada village of Bheemulapatnam mandal and included them in the list of prohibited properties.

However, when the HC issued directions to delist the land from the prohibited properties, he did not execute the order. This led to the present jail sentence.
