Hyderabad: Fire broke out from an LPG cylinder due to suspected leakage from the cylinder at MG Nagar under Film Nagar PS in the city, injuring four of a family. Two of them, Ramesh, 38, a cab driver and his wife Srilatha, 32, received more than 50 per cent burns, which are third degree in nature, while their children Harshavardhan, 13 and Seetha, 6, have received comparatively less burns in the incident.

According to the police, on Monday morning, when one of the family members woke up from sleep and switched off the lights, fire broke out in the flat. Prima facie probe revealed that the gas from the cylinder was leaking and without noticing it, when lights were switched on, it led to fire.

Neighbours who noticed the fire, alerted fire and police who rushed the injured persons to the hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. As the condition of the couple is critical, their dying declaration was also recorded by a Magistrate.

Meanwhile, the children who are in a state of shock could not reveal much details about the incident. They are also said to be under observation. SHO Film Nagar MGS Rama Krishna said that a case has been registered and investigation is on.
