No further probe on Perumbavoor rape-murder
He argued that there are differences in the chargesheet and the post-mortem report.
Kochi: Ernakulam principal sessions court on Thursday rejected the petition filed the father of the victim in the Perumbavoor rape and murder case seeking further probe into the case. The victim's father claimed that the chargesheet submitted by police against Assam native Ameerul Islam is not based on the post-mortem report. He argued that there are differences in the chargesheet and the post-mortem report.
The court, however, rejected the plea stating that the trial has already begun and thence there is no need to entertain the plea. The court could consider the plea if it was filed by the police. The victim's father argued that the accused Ameerul Islam would not be able rape and kill the victim all alone as she was a healthy girl.
He told the court that he had come to know about the trial after the court issued summons. He sought the police to probe into instance of distributing water through the canal on the banks of which the victim and her mother used to stay. The claims of police that the accused left his sandal and weapon near the crime scene were dubious, he said.
