Two killed, one missing, one injured in blast at cracker manufacturing unit in AP

Kakinada: A cracker blast at a cracker manufacturing shop killed two workers and injured one worker in Tadepalligudem of West Godavari district on Thursday night. Another worker was missing.

West Godavari SP Ravi Prakash said the cracker manufacturing shop had licence to make crackers. Eight workers came out from the shop on Thursday evening. Later, four workers went inside the shop to do the work. Meanwhile, the blast occurred.

According to preliminary information, the blast started with sparks from the flower pots. While one worker was found dead inside the shop and another worker died in a hospital at Tadepalligudem, a third worker was hospitalised.

Locals said one body split into pieces and these were thrown to a distance of 3km. The injured worker was crying aloud, unable to bear the pain. The Tadepalligudem rural police registered a case.
