Hyderabad: A senior business analyst, aspiring a job in the USA, was duped of Rs 3.5 lakh by a fraudster who promised to sponsor her H1-B visa. She had applied for a job in a US-based MNC, she told the Cyberabad cybercrime police.

She said that she received an SMS from “QP-RAMBDT” asking her to reach them if she wanted her H1-B visa to be sponsored. When she contacted them, a person identified as Ramesh asked her to send them her documents.

He first asked her for Rs 20,000, and then kept taking more money citing various fees.

When she asked for the Petition Receipt Notice from Quadrant Staffing which is issued by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within a week of receiving the application, the fraudsters kept putting her off and then stopped taking her calls.
