CM Pinarayi Vijayan takes a dig at the cult of god men'

KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said people, who have attained spiritual heights, are not known for marketing their spirituality. Mr Vijayan was addressing a meeting at Amrita Hospital in Edappally, Kochi on Saturday. Mr Vijayan  made the remark in response to Amritanandamayi Madhom Trust general secretary Poornamrthananada Puri complaining about the culture of people making fun of spiritual leaders as ‘god men’. Mr Vijayan said human beings are capable of developing distinct abilities through dedicated practice and devotion. Swami Vivekananda is an example. Amrithanandamayi also achieved world fame with her abilities, he said.
