Hyderabad: Debris near a pillar of the Panjagutta flyover caught fire at about noon on Friday during the peak traffic hour. Police stopped traffic for some time while the fire brigade reached the spot and doused the flames.

A fire official said they received a call at 12.12 pm and a fire engine from the Assembly was dispatched and it reached the spot at 12.30 pm.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Assembly station fire officer Mustafa said, “We doused the fire within 10 to 15 minutes. There were no casualties. He added the fire broke out due to an electric short circuit plywood kept nearby had caught fire.
Meanwhile a fire accident broke out near the Erramanzil Metro Rail station. Some persons tried to burn the garbage in the parking area of the station, which went out of control and led to a huge fire. The locals informed fire officials. Panjagutta fire officials reached the spot and doused the fire.
