Hyderabad: Furniture, cotton garments and sarees were reduced to ashes after fire broke out at the Telangana State Weaver Cooperative Society (TSCO) handloom godown in Dharmaram village in Warangal district on Monday. Officials suspect fire was caused due to short circuit.

The fire department officials estimated that crore of rupees worth material and furniture might have been gutted in the mishap.

According to officials, the control room staff received information that fire broke out at the TSCO handloom godown and the flames were spreading in the area.

Thick smoke emanated from the godown. Immediately, three fire tenders from different places were pressed into service and efforts were made to douse the flames.

As fire brigades had a tough time to control flames, additional fire tenders were brought from other places to control its spread.
