Rachakonda police chief rewards police officials for excellent service
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Tuesday organised a ‘reward mela’ where commissioner D.S. Chauhan, rewarded 168 investigation officers (IO), 41 court duty officers, 39 summons officers apart from public prosecutors for their detection and prosecution work leading to the conviction of the accused.
Since January, the Rachakonda police commmissionerate has secured 45 convictions in major heads including four life imprisonment convictions, Chauhan said in a press release. In three cases, the convicts were sent to 10 years in jail and three others ended in conviction for seven years.
He said that in four cases the accused were sentenced to five years. The commissionerate stood first in the state in the matter of convictions, he said.
Chauhan emphasised the importance in getting convictions to the criminals as it builds trust among the public on the criminal justice system and at the same time he encouraged officers to continue their good work.
