Gold seized at Visakhapatnam airport

Visakhapatnam: Vizag Customs seized 554.5 grams of gold worth `18 lakh from two persons at city airport on Saturday.
The department had gathered information from air intelligence unit that attempts were being made by an Indian to smuggle in gold in the form of paste. The officials have caught hold of the passenger coming from Sharjah, who has also handed another packet of gold to a passenger coming from Hyderabad to the city.
On inquiry, they stated that they were not in possession of any dutiable but a search, cops found gold concealed in the innerwear.
