Governor may nominate Parakala Prabhakar for AP Council
The proposal to give MLC post to Mr Parakala has been under consideration of the state government for a long time.
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government’s communication adviser Parakala Prabhakar, who is playing a key role in the government, is likely to be nominated as an MLC under the governor quota.
Telugu Daily network in-charge D.N. Prasad is likely to take responsibility of the state government’s communication adviser’s position in place of Mr Parakala.
According to sources, all is set and done for the entry of Mr Parakala as MLC. Mr Parakala is the husband Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the son of ex-minister Parakala Seshavataram. The CMO is exercising on vacant nominated positions along with his position.
The proposal to give MLC post to Mr Parakala has been under consideration of the state government for a long time. Earlier, there were speculations about inducting Mr Parakala into the cabinet. Though there is lesser chances of giving him a ministry, the state government is seriously pursuing his name for MLC position under governor quota.
The state government had started exercising on the candidature to fill up the three vacant MLC positions along with other nominated posts. It is also pursuing other names for the state government’s communications advisory position, if Mr. Parakala is confirmed as MLC, as even this position is very key to the government. With this, there is high competition for this position from senior journalists.
According to sources, the state government is in a second thought on MLC position to Jammalamadugu TD leader Rama Subba Reddy, as he had skipped Mahanadu programme, and with the intelligence report of changing the party.
