1.5 tmc water may reach Sriramsagar project

Hyderabad/ Nizamabad: Irrigation projects which had hit dead storage level have started receiving inflows thanks to heavy rains in upstream states.

Maharashtra has decided to close the gates on Monday night, by maintaining water level of 332.5 metres in the Babli project.

Sriramsagar project officials believe that around 1.5 tmc of water will reach the project by Tuesday evening.

They are coordinating with Maharashtra irrigation officials over water flows in the river Godavari.

The water level in Narayanpur dam has increased to 1,605 ft on Monday, while the FRL is 1,615 ft.

The storage increased to 25 TMC, while gross storage capacity is 37.646 TMC.

Narayanpur is getting inflows of 10,000 cusecs due to which water was released downstream to Jurala.
