Malayalam actress abduction: Congress praises police
Mr Sudheeran heaped praise on the police and said the strong public stand on the case had led to foolproof investigation.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leaders Ramesh Chennithala, M. M. Hassan and V. M. Sudheeran on Tuesday congratulated the police team for arresting Dileep in the actor assault case. KPCC president Hassan alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had delayed the arrest for five months. Former PCC chief Sudheeran said the Kerala police had won the first stage of the 'test'. Opposition Leader Chennithala demanded that AMMA should be disbanded.
Mr Hassan demanded the resignation of Mr Vijayan for delaying the arrest and alleged that he had tried to mislead the case by claiming that there was no conspiracy. "He should say from where he got such information initially. Even in the T. P. Chandrasekharan murder case, Pinarayi's name was mentioned in the conspiracy which shows that he is not fit to be the CM," he said.
He also demanded that AMMA president Innocent and MLAs Mukesh and K. B. Ganesh Kumar should step down from their posts. However, Mr Sudheeran heaped praise on the police and said the strong public stand on the case had led to foolproof investigation. The media also played a crucial role, he said. Mr Chennithala said the police were helped by the main accused Pulsar Suni, another accused and his cell mates.
