Vijayawada: A Class III student was hit by his science teacher for having incomplete notes. When the boy’s parents questioned the school management, they were given a transfer certificate for both their sons and asked to take them out of school. According to the Patamata police, Ch. Yashwanth and his brother Ch. Bhanu Prasad, the students of Vikas Public School, had not been able to attend classes for 10 days after having met with an accident.

Upon his return to the class, Ch. Yashwanth of Class III was hit by his teacher for failing to complete his notes. He suffered injuries to his legs as a result of the incident. When their father Ch. Srirama Murthy pick-ed them up from school in the evening, he noticed the injuries and decided to take the matter up with the school management. Upon receiving unsatisfactory responses from them, he filed a complaint with the Patamata police.

The police counselled the school management as well as the parents. However, both Yaswanth and Bhanu Prasad were denied entry into the school on Mon-day. They were handed transfer certificates without being given a proper explanation. Mr Murthy said, “Private schools loot parents by charging exorbitant fees while ignoring the safety of the children.”
