Aleti Maheshwar alleges Indrakaran won polls with bogus votes
Adilabad: Nirmal BJP leader and former MLA Aleti Maheshwar said on Tuesday that Minister Allola Indrakaran has been winning elections with the help of bogus votes in Nirmal.
“We are lodging a complaint with the chief election commissioner over the large-scale enrollment of bogus voters in this assembly constituency this time,” he said.
A total of 32,000 bogus names have been included in the voters list for Nirmal assembly constituency, he alleged.
Maheshwar Reddy submitted a memorandum to district collector Varun Reddy on the serious discrepancies in the electoral rolls. He released the data and the photographs of the small houses from each of which “more than 20 voters were enrolled” -- in Somwarpet, Adarsh Nagar, Kurannapet, Naiduwada and Budhwarpet.
Speaking to the media, he said many bogus names were included in these families. “In reality, they are not residing in these colonies.” Also, identical house numbers of Nirmal town are reflected in different polling booths in the constituency, he alleged.
He said more than 10 voters were enrolled from a house that has one room or from thatched huts. “We have identified 1553 such houses in Nirmal town itself. The total number of voters from these houses is around 21,906 in the voters list.”
“More than 20 voters each are enrolled from a few houses consisting of one room or thatched houses. There are 159 such houses across Nirmal town and there are around 4240 voters in the voter list from these 159 houses.”
Maheshwar Reddy further said voters with exactly the same names with different EPIC IDs were seen in large numbers across the Nirmal constituency. “More than 670 voters have house numbers marked as ‘0-0’ across the Nirmal constituency. Voters with the same EPIC number IDs are repeated in the electoral rolls,” he said.
