India Posts to release special covers of Lord Venkateswara
The cover comprised of Shanku and Chakra.
Tirupati: India Posts has decided to issue special covers commemorating all the holy Vahana processions of Lord Venkateswara during the Navaratri Brahmotsavam.
TTD EO, Anil Kumar Singhal, released the first in the series special cover for the Pedda Sesha Vahanam to commemorate the celestial vehicle of Pedda Sesha Vahanam late on Wednesday.
The cover with a special stamp of Pedda Shesha Vahanam with the date and location of Tirumala comprised of Shanku and Chakra, the insignia of Lord Venkateswara.
The inscription on the back read: “The deity Malayappa Swamy will go on a procession on a big seven-hooded golden Sesha Vahana. The Lord of Serpents, Adisesha bears the massive weight of the globe with its thousand feet, which dispels sins and who acts as a bed for Lord Vishnu. God is Seshi and the others are Sesha Bhooth. The Lord preaches the concept of Shesha-Seshi.”
According to information available, India Posts plans to release a similar special cover every day in front of every vahanams on Mada Street to commemorate every vahanam at the Navaratri Brahmotsavams.
