Telangana HC turns down medicos plea to change college
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday denied the request of PG medical students of MNR Medical College, who sought directions from the court to create supernumerary seats in government and private medical colleges and relocate them there.
A few students approached the High Court stating that there were shortcomings in infrastructure and teaching staff in the MNR College which was worrying them, and they wanted to go to other colleges. It advised the MNR Medical College not to demand fee payment from postgraduate medical students for some time.
Earlier, the National Medical Council had cancelled permission for the college after it came across lack of infrastructure and teaching staff during its inspection. After the cancellation of the approval, the students were shifted to other colleges for a few days.
However, the medical college has obtained permission to run the college and the transferred students were ordered to go back to the college. Challenging it, the students had approached the High Court.
