Andhra Pradesh records 1,732 Covid cases, 14 deaths

East Godavari continues to be the worst hit with more number of cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases at 1,19,501

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh registered 1,732 new Covid-19 cases increasing total number of cases to 8,47,977 and 14 deaths taking the toll to 6,828 in the last 24 hours.

The state health authorities issued Covid-19 bulletin here on Wednesday reporting that out of 70,405 samples tested, 1,732 persons were found infected with Covid-19. Out of a total of 88,63,340 samples tested so far in the state, 8,20,234 patients have recovered while 20,915 patients are still active with the virus.

Among daily cases, East Godavari registered the highest of 344 followed by 246 in Krishna, 227 in West Godavari, 198 in Chittoor, 195 Guntur, 97 Anantapur, 89 Nellore, 88 Kadapa, 75 Visakhapatnam, 66 Vizianagaram, 59 Srikakulam and 24 each in Kurnool and Prakasam.

East Godavari continues to be the worst hit with more number of cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases with 1,19,501 followed by 89,428 in West Godavari, 81,360 in Chittoor, 70,182 Guntur, 65,819 Anantapur, 60,689 Prakasam, 60,608 Nellore, 59,815 Kurnool, 56,989 Visakhapatnam, 53,369 Kadapa, 44,820 Srikakulam, 42,394 Krishna, 40,108 Vizianagaram, 2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries. 
The rate of recovery of Covid-19 infected patients has been good in East Godavari with 1,14,045 followed by 86,322 in West Godavari, 78,985 in Chittoor, 67,011 Guntur, 64,403 Anantapur, 59,329 Nellore, 59,293 Prakasam, 59,048 Kurnool, 54,940 Visakhapatnam, 52,152 Kadapa, 43,673 Srikakulam, 39,519 Vizianagaram, 38,619 in Krishna, 2,461 from other states and 434 from other countries.

Among daily cases of deaths, Krishna registered three followed by two each in Anantapur, Chittoor, Visakhapatnam and West Godavari and one each in East Godavari, Guntur and Nellore.

Chittoor topped the state by registering the highest cumulative cases of death with 801 followed by 634 in Guntur, 622 East Godavari, 600 Krishna, 576 Anantapur, 575 Prakasam, 521 Visakhapatnam, 510 West Godavari, 489 Nellore, 482 Kurnool, 444 Kadapa, 344 Srikakulam and 230 in Vizianagaram.
The state health authorities discharged 1,761 Covid-19 infected patients after recovery from various hospitals in the last 24 hours.

Andhra Pradesh conducted Covid-19 tests on 1,65,980 samples per one million population with Covid-19 positive rate at 9.57 while Maharashtra tested 75,924 samples with positive rate at 18.21 and Telangana tested 1,19,205 samples with positive rate at 5.39.
