Lok Adalat disposes of 1.8 lakh pending cases

The highest number of 40,000 cases has been disposed of In Hyderabad district courts

On inquiry, the court found that Survey No.78 had 215 acres and 20 guntas of land, and there were nearly 1,000 buildings on the parcel of land, some of them without approved plans.

Hyderabad: In a massive exercise, around 1,80,000 pending and pre-litigation cases pending at various  stages in several courts in Telangana were disposed of in the  National Lok Adalat, conducted here on Saturday .

According to M.V. Ramesh, member secretary of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority,  around 1,30,,000 pending cases, which include  as many as 1,28,000 criminal cases and remaining 2,000 civil cases, have been disposed of at 88 Lok Adalat centers set up on Saturday. Around 50,000 pre-litigation cases have also been disposed of. The highest number of 40,000 cases has been disposed of In Hyderabad district courts.

In the Telangana  High Court, Justice G. Sri Devi and Justice G. Yethirajulu, former judge presided the Lok Adalat benches and settled 447 cases and awarded Rs 6.5 crore tor 740 beneficiaries  in all  disposed cases.

Murali Mohan, secretary of  Legal Services Authority of City Civil Courts in Hyderabad  said that a total 850 pending civil cases were disposed of in all civil courts in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and Rs 32 crore compensation was awarded to the beneficiaries .
