Protect Inavolu temple’s glory: Errabelli
Panchayat raj minister directs officials to make arrangements for the three-day jatara that begins from January 13
WARANGAL: Minister for panchayat raj and rural water supply Errabelli Dayakar Rao directed Inavolu temple authorities and priests to make necessary arrangements for the convenience of devotees during the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Jatara which will be held from January 13 to 15 here at the temple.
The minister chaired a review meeting with the officials of various departments on the temple premises in Inavolu of Warangal district on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dayakar Rao said the Inavolu Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple, which was constructed 700 years ago by the Kakatiya rulers, has a great history. It is the minimum responsibility of everyone to protect it and keep the great history of the temple intact for the generations to come.
“There is a need to make permanent arrangements including provision of pure drinking water and toilet facilities apart from construction of bathing ghats and supply of uninterrupted power,” the minister said.
The road from Punnel Cross to Inavolu temple needed to be developed along with a bypass road which led to the temple to resolve the traffic issues apart from constructing one guest house near the temple premises for the VIPs, he said.
He directed the officials to come up with proposals to take up construction works of a shopping complex, Sulabh complex and a mini-function hall as the Inavola was converted into a mandal from a major village panchayat. He suggested the officials make temporary arrangements on war footing for the three-day jatara. “Even though it is a three-day jatara, devotees will continue to visit Inavolu temple for three months,” he said.
To prevent any untoward incidents and to ensure the safety of the devotees, the minister directed them to set up temporary toilets, build sheds, make special arrangements for women devotees, separate rooms for changing of clothes, installation of CCTV cameras apart from arrangements for anna danam programme daily.
He also asked the officials of the health department to set up temporary medical camps and conduct corona tests, make arrangements of face masks and sanitisers, following Covid-19 rules and guidelines strictly.
