Belagavi: Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan dismissed the need for an apology, asserting that he had not made any statement warranting such action.

Speaking to the press in reaction to the BJP-JD(S) dharna in the Assembly targeting him, Zameer asserted that he would neither submit his resignation nor seek an apology.

Attributing the BJP's focus on this issue a week after the commencement of the session as a lack of alternative concerns, Zameer emphasized readiness for a discussion if a notice is submitted as per rules.

He contended that the opposition's preference for controversy over a meaningful dialogue was evident.

Defending his earlier remarks, Zameer stated, "I had said that Congress, BJP, and JD(S) members bow down to the Speaker's chair and respect it. I have merely highlighted that the Congress has elevated the Muslim community to such a high post. What's wrong with that statement?" he questioned.
