Hyderabad: A 25-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Pet Basheerabad area on Friday evening.

The victim was identified as Charanteja Reddy, an autorickshaw driver from Vajpayeenagar in Chinthal.

“An area local heard Charanteja’s son, Dinesh, 13-months-old, crying and nobody was attending to him. When nobody responded despite knocking the door several times, he peeped in from the ventilator and found Reddy hanging.

Immediately, the neighbours were called and they broke in and informed his wife,” said the sub-inspector investigating the case. He added that the victim had a quarrel with his wife, after which she went to her native place in Vijayawada.

This might be the reason for suicide. Based on a complaint, a case was booked under Section 174 of IPC.
