35 deliveries a day at Mother & Child health care centre in Jangaon
Warangal: The Mother and Health Care Centre at Champak Hills, in Jangaon district, set a new record by performing 35 deliveries in 24 hours on Thursday. Doctors Shoba, Rajini and Manasvini with the help of nurses Mariyamma and Sangeetha and nursing assistants did the operations under the supervision of hospital superintendent Sugunakar Raju.
Raju said that this was the first delivery for 15 of the 35 pregnant women. Nine deliveries were normal and six were C-sections. The remaining 20 deliveries were either second or the third. Most of them had C-section surgeries in the past. “This was the first time 35 deliveries were performed in one day in a government hospital in the state,” he stressed.
The doctors and other health staff were felicitated for their achievement and for building confidence among the poor patients who visit government hospitals. Health minister T Harish Rao congratulated the doctors through a message on his twitter account.
