MP LS Polls: Ayodhya Ram Temple, 'Modi Guarantees' to Ride BJP's Poll Juggernaut
Bhopal: BJP plans to achieve its target of winning all the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls by riding piggyback on the Ram temple issue.
A roadmap to hype the Ram temple consecration ceremony, scheduled to be held on January 22 at Ayodhya, across the state and maintain the tempo in the run up to the upcoming LS polls, due in May-June this year, has been prepared at a meeting of senior leaders of party in the state, a senior BJP functionary told this newspaper on Friday.
The meeting, held at a place around 60 km from here on Thursday, chalked out the strategy to achieve the target of increasing the vote share of the party in the upcoming LS polls to 51 percent from 48.66 percent, secured by the party in the November 17 Assembly elections in the state, the party leader said.
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav was among the prominent BJP leaders of the state who attended the meeting, sources said.
Sources said that a massive campaign has already been launched to build a religious fervour across the state leading to Ram temple consecration ceremony on January 22.
The campaign involves inviting the people to Ayodhya to visit the Ram temple with 'ceremonious' rice sprinkled with turmeric water.
“A religious procession has been carried out in each cities, towns, and villages and invitation to visit Ayodhya Ram temple has been extended to the local people by the activists of BJP and its different frontal organisations on the occasion”, the leader said.
BJP has made an appeal to the people across the state to celebrate the occasion like ‘Diwali’ by lighting earthen lamps in their houses. Each temple in the state will also be lit with earthen lamps.
The religious fervour, billed to be stirred by the Ram temple consecration on January 22, will be maintained over coming two months with various rituals and functions being lined up to extend the celebration over the Ram temple consecration ceremony, sources said.
The party is also planning to launch a mass outreach programme to target the beneficiaries of various Central-sponsored welfare schemes, and strengthen booth level networks of the party, to send a message on the ‘Modi Guarantees’ at the grass root level.
Sources said that the state has been divided into seven clusters with the party planning to establish an election office and a war room in each cluster.
BJP had won 28 out of 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh in the 2019 LS polls.
