Two-day workshop on intellectual property rights

Vijayawada: AP Chambers and KL University are organising a two-day workshop from January 23 in Vijayawada coinciding with the National Intellectual Property (IP) Yatra.

AP Chambers president Potluri Bhaskar Rao said that the IP Yatra is being organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to bring awareness among MSMEs about intellectual property rights (IPRs), such as patents, industrial designs, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and GI registration.

This would encourage MSMEs in launching creative intellectual endeavours and file IPRs both in India and abroad.

Further, Bhaskar Rao explained that the event will familiarise MSMEs with the process of filing, acquiring and commercialising IP assets, the legal framework involved, the available government support, GI (geographical indication) certification and GI products.

AP Chambers will award participants a certification at the end of the workshop.

Those interested may register by calling 91 99120 92222 / 0866 2482888. Prior registration is mandatory for participating in the event.
