Hyderabad: School boy drowns in swimming pool
After swimming for a few minutes they went deep into the pool and his friends realise that Yashwanth was missing.
Hyderabad: A Class VIII student drowned in a swimming pool on Saturday. Police said the incident happened when the boy, Yashwanth, 13, and his friends entered the eight feet deep pool. A few minutes after that he drowned. A case was registered against the swimming pool authorities.
Police said that D. Yashwanth, a resident of Gudimalkapur, was studying at the MNR High School. On Saturday after school he and seven other friends, came to the GB swimming pool at Barejadi. Although the other boys knew swimming, Yashwanth did not know it. But due to curiosity he too entered the pool.
“After swimming for a few minutes they went deep into the pool and his friends realise that Yashwanth was missing. Other swimmers dived into the pool and pulled out Yashwanth but he was dead,” aaid Kulsumpura SI B. Venkatesham. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police said there was no one to monitor the swimmers at the pool. Based on a complaint from the boy’s father Prathap a case of causing death by negligence was registered against the pool management. Police is checking the permissions of the pool.
