TSPSC employee held responsible for paper leak
HYDERABAD: Investigation into a question paper leak for the post of town planning overseer, scheduled to be held by the TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) on Saturday, revealed the role of an employee in the TSPSC secretary's office.
The exam was postponed after the TSPSC complained to the police. The TSPSC announced that an online examination for the post of veterinary assistant surgeon, scheduled for March 15 and 16, has also been postponed.
The candidates were informed individually through SMS about the postponement of the examination.
The Begum Bazaar police, who are investigating the case, said that a woman, who was seeking the question paper for her brother, approached the employee, who was her husband’s acquaintance. The employee, who did not have access to the paper, colluded with another employee to take printouts and photocopies of the question paper.
Identifying the woman as a senior official of the state education department, the police said they found evidence of a huge cash transaction between the parties. They ruled out the hacking of the TSPSC systems.
The employee, his colleague and a few other persons were detained by the police and questioned.
The police said the paper leak was revealed when the brother of the woman accused, wanting to make a quick buck, offered to share the paper with his acquaintances for a fee.
“We have got some evidence and few suspects are being questioned. We are investigating,” a senior police official said.
