Hyderabad: Disregard of a leak in a drinking water pipeline by the HMWSSB may deprive Hafeezpet residents of proper road. The valve near Hitec city MMTS is leaking on alternate days whenever the residents are supplied with drinking water.

The GHMC has taken up activity of laying the road during which the valve was damaged. Abhijeet Sinha, a techie and resident said, “One level of BT road is done at Mahindra Ashvita HT junction. If the water continues to overflow, the BT will get damaged soon.”

The GHMC permitted the HMWSSB to fix the leak by cutting the road.

If the leak is not immediately attended, the road renovation programme will come to a halt, which will force the residents to wait till the completion of monsoon.

Mr Sinha added that there is a circle junction cover under the BT layer which needs to be on top, in case the pipeline needs future maintenance.

HMWSSB officials said that they are looking into the issue and the leak will be fixed by Wednesday evening.
