Kurnool: The Srisailam devasthanam organised the Maha Mrityunjaya Homam, on Monday, providing a free service exclusively to white ration card holders. The special homam took place at the Chandravathi Kalyana Mandapam, as part of the temple's efforts to offer convenient services to the cardholders. The event commenced with the chanting of the gotra namas of all the devotees, followed by a Maha Ganapathi puja to ensure the smooth conduct of the proceedings. The highlight of the ceremony was the Mrityunjaya Homam, a sacred fire ritual performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Shiva for protection and well-being.

During the ritual, all the participating devotees were given the opportunity to have darshan of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bharamaramba Devi, the presiding deities of the Srisailam temple, through the designated queue lines. As a token of blessing, the devotees were presented with 2 laddus, a kailasa kankanam, and a spiritual monthly magazine.

The Maha Mrityunjaya Homam attracted participants not only from the local region but also from various other places, including Srikalahasti, Markapuram, Bhimavaram, Guntur, Dornala, Narasaraopeta, Anantapur, Kadapa, Tirupati, Bapatla, Ponnuru, Kolar in Karnataka, and more. The event provided a spiritual experience for the devotees, allowing them to seek divine blessings and participate in a revered Vedic ritual who had already registered online, officials said.
