Domestic Help Dies by Suicide At Cable Bridge

HYDERABAD: A 20-year-old domestic help who used to work at upscale Jubilee Hills died by suicide at the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge on Thursday afternoon. Her body is yet to be found.

The police identified the woman as Payal, a native of Kalaburagi district in Karnataka, who was working in the city for the past few months.

The Madhapur police registered a case and launched a search for the body, pressing the Disaster Response Force along with lake patrols into service.
The police said that the incident took place when Payal and a friend, Bhagya Sri, visited a store and were returning from their workplace through the bridge.

She did not speak anything to her friend before taking the extreme step, the police said. Her family in Kalaburagi was informed and a probe started.
