Game to counter Blue Whale: State police chief Loknath Behera

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of its strategies to counter Blue Whale Challenge, the state police has   suggested developing games  like Pink Whale that offers positive challenges. State police chief Loknath Behera has urged a group of young developers to explore the option of developing games that could counter Blue Whale Challenge. He also offered to host such games in the server of police's Cyberdome.

A suggestion of police promoting games similar to Blue Whale Challenge even came up at a high-level meeting convened by the Centre recently. "I had suggested to a group of young game developers in the state, who recently called on me, to try developing some kind of online games that could give simple interesting positive involvement to the children. The police could also promote such games that could in a way help the development of children. Such games could help prevent children from falling into traps of Blue Whale Challenge," Mr Behera said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs recently convened a meeting of police officers from all states to discuss the threats posed by the game. The Pink Whale Challenge developed in Brazil that gives positive challenges came up during the discussions and there were even suggestions that police could initiate steps in developing and promoting such games. The Centre had also hailed the efforts being taken by the state in countering Blue Whale Challenge.
