TTD invites Jagan for annual Brahmotsavams

 TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has formally invited Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday for the annual Brahmotsavams at the Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala.

TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar, accompanied by endowments minister K. Satyanarayana and TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy handed over the invitation for the Brahmotsavams, which will commence on September 18 and continue for nine days.

As part of the tradition, the Chief Minister will present the pattu vastrams (silk robes) on behalf of the AP government to Lord Venkateswara on September 18.

The festivities will kick off with the celestial Dhwajarohanam ritual on September 18 evening. After the holy flag hoisting, the CM will participate in a procession from Bedi Anjaneya Swamy temple to the Tirumala temple carrying the pattu vastrams, which he will offer to Lord Venkateswara. Jagan Mohan Reddy is also expected to join in the Pedda Sesha Vahanam procession later the same night.

Coinciding with the Brahmotsavams, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the ₹684 crore Srinivasa Setu elevated expressway project in Tirupati on September 18 morning.

Elaborate preparations are being made in Tirumala and Tirupati for smooth conduct of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams.
