KOTTAYAM:   The prospects of Kerala Congress (M) making it to the Left Democratic Front (LDF) have sustained a severe blow with the name of party vice- chairman Jose K. Mani, MP, finding a mention in the solar inquiry commissions report.  Mr Jose K. Mani was keen to take the party to the LDF after relations soured with the UDF and feared that it could cost him a win in the next Lok Sabha election in Kottayam. Party sources said the discussion with the LDF were very much alive when the report on the scam came.

KC(M) chairman K.M. Mani is expected to announce the decision of the party at a meeting which will be held at Thirunakkata by December 12. “Now the option (to join LDF) no more exists as the LDF will find it difficult to accommodate us,” a KC (M) leader told DC. Sources close to the CPM leadership concurred with the view.  CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran, however, told DC that the LDF never discussed the entry of KC (M) to the alliance on any occasion and latest report by no means demands such a discussion.
