Thiruvananthapuram: Congress MLA V.T. Balram has lashed out at the leadership saying that the solar case was the result of ‘adjustment politics’ played by the UDF leadership which had tried to settle the T. P. Chandrasekharan murder case.   In a Facebook post, he asked the  Congress to stop such adjustment politics. However, 'A' group MLA Thiruvananchoor Radhakrishnan refuted Mr Balram's comment saying that there was no compromise on the TP murder case. RMP leader K. K. Rema also rubbished  Mr  Balram’s comments.

The Thrithala MLA’s comment has  embarrassed the UDF which has suffered a jolt with the LDF government’s decision to file criminal cases  against the accused in the solar scam.  Mr Balram alleged that the UDF government had failed to  thoroughly investigate the TP case, especially the conspiracy  by the top CPM leadership,  and then compromised  with it.

“It is high time the Congress decided to put a stop to its adjustment politics and raised  its  voice against fraudsters like Thomas Chandy and other tainted leaders,”  said Mr Balram. However, he did not directly blame the leaders who have been implicated in the solar scam.     He said  the chief minister had initiated a “political witch- hunt ” and added that the revelations made by Mr Pinarayi Vijayan  did not have credibility. “If  a Congress-free India is the slogan of the RSS at the national level, the  CPM motive at the state level is the same.  It is the ploy of Pinarayi to hide   his poor governance and instead he has resorted to  political rivalry,”  added  Mr Balram.

Mr Thiruvanchoor said in Kottayam  that those who have grievance against the then UDF government can approach the court. "The findings on the TP murder case had already been approved by the court. At the same time, I had never intervened in the course of the inquiry. Let the complainant approach the court,"  he said. RMP leader and TP's wife K. K. Rema demanded that  Mr Balram should reveal the compromise details.  She told reporters in Kannur that Mr Balram's revelations  four years after the murder were  shocking.
