Vizag-Araku tourist train with new version of Vistadome coach trail run successful

Visakhapatnam:  Vizag based Waltair Railway Division (WRD) conducted trail run of a tourist train with new version of Vistadome coach, from Vizag railway station to Araku on Tuesday.

The trail run has been successful, and new train will be operated for public shortly, the railway authorities said.

The Railways recently provided three new glass-domed coaches to Andhra Pradesh at Vizag railway station. The coaches were  parked at the coaching yard. One of the coaches was on Tuesday sent for the trail run on the KK-railway line in the Eastern Ghats.

The trail run was conducted with an LHB rake without passengers, and yielded desired results, a railway official told Deccan Chronicle.

Until recently, the Railways used to operate an old version of the Vistadome coach between Vizag and Araku. Now, this advanced coach can be attached to an LHB rake, the railway official added.

The Railways planned to operate a dedicated tourist train between Vizag and Araku, and also an Express train between Vizag and Koraput via Araku with LHB rake.
