The new 2,000 rupee notes, that were introduced, look nothing like currencies you would be proud of owning.

Chennai: Ever played the board game called ‘Monopoly’ as a child and pretended that the toy money was real and that you were rich? The weirdly coloured notes seemed attractive and looked evidently fake.

Since last week, however, one wouldn’t need to look for the game to get hold of the fake looking notes. The new 2,000 rupee notes, that were introduced, look nothing like currencies you would be proud of owning.

Following the demonetisation of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes, the fake looking 2,000 rupee notes are only adding to the problems of the public. “It used to break my heart when I had to break a 1,000 rupee note. When I broke the 2,000 rupee note on Friday – barely an hour after I got it – it was so heart wrenching,” said Kalpna P., a musician.

The note has been a butt of jokes, memes and GIFs since last week, some of which are hilarious. However, jokes aside, it is also proving to be an object of problems, affecting various businesses as well.
