Kurnool: In a significant effort to improve facilities for devotees and further develop the Srisailam temple town, the Srisaila Devasthanam trust board approved 28 out of 30 proposed resolutions during a meeting held on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Reddivari Chakrapani Reddy.

To address the growing need for accommodation, the board approved the construction of a 200-room facility building near Ganesh Sadan. Estimated at a cost of Rs. 52 crore, this project significantly expands lodging options for pilgrims.

Ensuring smooth and comfortable darshan for devotees was a priority. The board approved raising the height of the compound wall of the Sikhareshwara Swamy temple, costing Rs. 39 lakh, to facilitate better crowd management.

Improving access to clean drinking water and maintaining proper sanitation are crucial for the well-being of devotees. The board allocated funds for laying cement concrete roads in various parts of the main temple area (Rs. 29 lakh) and building traffic diversion dividers (Rs. 38.50 lakh) to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

Recognising the need for better connectivity within the temple town, the board proposed constructing a bridge linking Rajula Satram to Siddaramappa Padalu.
