ADILABAD: Adivasis on Saturday protested the arrest of two persons belonging to the community in connection with the death of two tigers in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. The leaders of Adivasi organisations demanded the government to drop the cases, saying the accused were gullible persons.

They pointed out that the forest department had first stated that a tiger had died in a territorial fight and later changed their version to claim that it was poisoned at the Darigaon beat in Kagaznagar forest range. Two persons and a minor had been arrested on Friday.

BSP leader Sidam Ganapathi said said the forest officials had arrested the two Adivasis to save their skin.
