Makar Sankranti celebrations of today are not different from the past, they just got hi-tech, I was surprised to see the traditional decorated bull Gangireddu' had a QR code pasted on the forehead. From my memories and imagination, Sankranti has found a way on my canvas too.

Visakhapatnam: Union minister of state for justice Arjun Ram Meghwal participated in BJP Rajya Sabha MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao’s Sankranti celebrations on the occasion of Bhogi.

In these celebrations, in the early morning, bonfires of the Bhogi were lit up. In the evening, children were showered with ‘Bhogi Pallu’. Meghwal was overwhelmed by showering small children with ‘Bhogi Pallu’. He wondered when he saw the bathing of children with fruits. The minister said nowhere in the country did this tradition exist. Meghwal impressed people by singing
bhajans.

On the occasion, Meghwala said, “Our cultural traditions have shaped our nation into a Vishwaguru. Our country has cultural leadership. The strong foundation of a future India is linked to our cultural traditions. It is our festivals that showcase our heritage to future citizens of India.” He also said, “The construction of the Ayodhya Ram temple has overcome 500 years of obstacles.”

It is known that these celebrations are held at the AU Engineering College Grounds.
