TS Congress Legislators call on DGP Anjani Kumar
The leaders sought DGP\'s intervention over the investigation into the suicide of a farmer and his two daughters in Jagtial district
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and party MLC T. Jeevan Reddy met Director-General of Police Anjani Kumar and sought his intervention over the investigation and follow-up action into the suicide of a farmer and his two daughters at Narsingpur in Jagtial district.
The leaders held that despite the registration of an FIR, the police were yet to arrest the advocate who was blamed in the suicide note and demanded his immediate arrest.
It was stated that G. Jalapathi Reddy, 40, pushed his daughters aged 11 and nine, into a well on an agricultural farm. He later died by suicide in another well.
“After the farmer received meagre compensation, he and others with the help of local lawyer K. Damodar Rao filed a case. Even though the High Court decided in the farmer’s favour, Rao’s failure to hand over the judgment copy and the ordeal the farmer underwent due to harassment to get compensation pushed him to take his own life and that of his daughters,” they said.
