Andhra Pradesh towns register scorching 48.9 degree Celsius

Hyderabad: Hyderabad sizzled at 43ºC on Wednesday, the highest temperature recorded in April in 43 years. Most places in TS are likely to record maximum temperatures between 40ºC and 45ºC. Heat wave conditions will prevail over Hyderabad, Nizama-bad, Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy, Khammam, Medak and Nalgonda districts.

In AP, the maximum temperature was 48.9ºC at the Tallaproddutur automatic weather station in Kadapa district followed by Srisailam in Kurnool district at 48.8ºC. Wednesday was thus the hottest day in the state this month. Kadapa headquarters recorded 44ºC, Kurnool 44.3ºC and Anantapur headquarters 43.1ºC. Heat wave conditions are likely to continue for two more days in all areas of Rayalaseema.
