Mahija stood against party, blames minister G Sudhakaran
Mahija's case was the first in the history of communist party, he said.
Kozhikode: PWD Minister G. Sudhakaran has come down heavily on Jishnu Pranoy’s mother Mahija saying that no mother of a martyr had stood against the communist party in the past. “Kannur has the highest number of martyrs’ mothers. But no mother has complained against the party,” he said at a martyr commemorative function held at Korome, Payyannur, on Wednesday night. “Mahija showed interest in booking not her son’s murderers, but those who nabbed the murderers,” he said.
Mahija’s case was the first in the history of communist party, he said. “Several mothers had the trauma of witnessing their sons being hacked to death before them only because they were communists. Still, those mothers never stood against the party,” he said. He felt that it was not right to give bail to the accused in the Jishnu case. “But the CPM will not criticise the court,” he said. CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan, C. Krishnan, MLA and CPI district secretary P. Santhosh Kumar among others spoke.
